Puppy "Squeaker" Salt and Pepper Shakers - Vintage, Collectible, Animal
1319 - These shakers were purchased at a Nebraska estate sale. They are used and in fair condition.
These shakers are considered "Squeakers". Squeaker shakers usually have a noise maker built into the base of each shaker that makes a crying noise whenever the shaker is turned over. These shakers have the squeakers, but do not make noise because the paper in the squeaker deteriorates with age.
The puppies are brown with one having a red collar and the other a green. There is some chipping and discoloration of paint and small chips at the edge of the ears on both shakers (see photos).
Both shakers are 4 1/2 inches tall, have rubber stoppers and marked with a gold sticker on the bottom "Commodore Japan".
