Pheasant Nodder Salt and Pepper Shakers - vintage, collectible, Japan
1316 - This set of salt and pepper shakers is used but in good condition.
The set is three pieces - the base for the shakers and two pheasants that sit and nod their bodies.
The base is white with 14K lines, red roses and green leaves. There is a slight manufacturer crack at the bottom edge of the base. The crack does not go all the way through and it seems that it has been sealed with glaze. The base measures 4 inches long, 1 1/2 inches wide and 2 inches tall. The base has a gold and yellow sticker "A Quality Product Japan" on the bottom.
The pheasants are colorful. One bird has a black body and orange feathers. This shaker is 2 3/4 inches tall and 2 7/16 inches long. This shaker has a cork stopper and is marked "Patent T.T." on the side.
The other pheasant is blue and orange. It is also 2 3/4 inches tall and 2 7/16 long. This shaker also has a cork stopper and marked the same as the other bird.
